NO...a lie is defined as a false statement.  But, depending on what you're omitting, it could be a crap thing to do.

legally speaking, an omission of the truth is also a failure to disclose. so if you can be held liable in court, i say you can be held liable in your personal life too. ;)

Yes, you should be held accountable for a failure to disclose relevant information, and, depending on the situation, that could be a lot shittier and have worse consequences than saying false things, but I still don't consider it technically "lying." From a semantics standpoint. Not saying someone's response shouldn't be the same as being lied to, if they were deliberately misled.

Although when people have hid things from me, and then, on top of that, looked me in the eye and said "No, I've never done that," it's definitely made me more pissed off. Also, legally, wouldn't saying false things be perjury, which is worse? (I seriously know nothing about law, I'm honestly curious)
